We rented a tent, tables, chairs, stage, and fans from Port City Rentals for our large family reunion at our rural family farm, and we could not have been more pleased with the experience from beginning to end. Early in the planning process, we visited their offices and had an extremely productive meeting with the staff. They listened carefully to all of our concerns and questions, especially regarding tent placement on the property. What impressed us most was that they later drove nearly two hours to the farm itself to help us determine the best location for the tent setup. That level of service and commitment was truly above and beyond. They also recommended an outstanding lighting contractor, Snider Bros, whose work completely transformed the event space and added so much to the atmosphere of the reunion. The Port City crew delivered all equipment on time, set everything up efficiently, and returned promptly for pickup afterward. Every member of the team was hardworking, cordial, professional, and very respectful of the property throughout the process. Planning a large event in a rural location can be stressful, but Port City Rentals made things so much easier for us. We would highly recommend them to anyone planning a special event.

Overall I am happy with the service. I first contacted Port City Rentals via email, and they were fairly quick to respond ( which is rare in this city) I ended up renting 12 chiavari chairs and a table. Chair pads were provided for free. The furniture does not look new, but I made it work by covering and decorating. They also give delivery option for extra fee, but I used a pick up option. Furniture was not heavy, so it is manageable. Prices are very reasonable and staff was nice and friendly.

WARNING: Think Twice Before Renting from This Company! I’m not sure how much money one has to spend to receive quality furniture from this company, but I can tell you—DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! We spent thousands of dollars, only to have our furniture arrive in unacceptable condition on the morning of our wedding. Our event coordinator had to call a manager back to the venue to attempt stain removal, but many stains remained clearly visible. As a bride, this was beyond disheartening and traumatizing- to spend the entire rest of my wedding day thinking about how horrible everything might look. After MONTHS of planning and coughing up thousands- this is not appropriate service from a vendor. No one should have to deal with this kind of stress on their wedding day. It’s clear they have no proper quality control in place to prevent such issues. To make matters worse, I have called this company eight times since my wedding, simply trying to speak with someone about even a partial refund. Not once has anyone followed through with a response. Brad, the owner, has not made the slightest effort to contact me and none of his managers have reached out either. I never imagined I would have such a terrible experience with a company that claims to provide high-quality event rentals. a NIGHTMARE!!! If you’re considering renting from them, BE WARNED—you’re taking a huge risk with both the quality of what will be delivered and their complete lack of accountability afterward.

I thought Port City Rentals did a decent job. I never had problems with communication. However, if I want something done, I don't email people. So whenever I went into the store, I was always helped perfectly fine. The chairs for the wedding ceremony were exactly what I was expecting. The only thing that threw me off was the cost to rent chairs. But, I have never done this before, so I'm probably extremely out of touch with prices. Overall, I was pleased. They set everything up and took it down when they were supposed to, so I was a happy bride.

I have read some of the reviews posted by other people and I have to say that I am pretty surprised by them. My experience with Port City Rentals has been amazing. I hired them to setup a corporate dinner with very short notice. When I walked into the store (I didn't have an appointment) the woman working at the front desk (I think her name is Michelle) greeted me and was very friendly. There were several other customers in the store and I had time to look around. Eventually the other people left and Michelle not only helped me to choose a color scheme, she also helped me with my layout and number of chairs/tables I needed since she was very familiar with the event's venue. On top of that, the day before our dinner the weather was supposed to be terrible. With only one day's notice I was able to arrange to have a large tent setup by the company. The guys that did the setup were quick and moved all the furniture exactly to my layout even under the tent. For anyone having issues with emails not getting answered, I really do suggest calling as these people seem to be swamped all the time! I will definitely use them for next year's dinner!
